RnD Technical's courses in Microsoft^® Word and PowerPoint^® were developed in response to client requests for advanced courses tailored to the needs of geoscientists. Both courses build on participants' working level knowledge of the software to give them the advanced tools required to prepare manuscripts and presentations more effectively and efficiently.

Both courses require only a classroom or boardroom. They were designed on the assumption that each participant would not be sitting at a computer because 1) it's difficult for most geological surveys to set up or get access to a training room with 10-15 computers; and 2) a great deal of time can be wasted resolving technical problems with the computers, which detracts from the learning process.

The notes for the Word course form a step-by-step guide to all of the procedures discussed. A complete set of handouts is provided for the PowerPoint course.
